How Wheat Bags Work

How to Use
For warmth: Place the wheat bag in the microwave on high for 2 minutes. Heating for longer than 2½ minutes is not recommended, as the bag may become too hot for comfortable contact with the skin.
Wheat bags may not feel particularly warm immediately after being removed from the microwave, as the heat is concentrated in the centre. Giving the bag a gentle shake helps distribute the warmth more evenly.
Place the wheat bag wherever extra warmth is desired and allow a moment for the heat to settle in. The heat pack generally stays warm for 30–45 minutes, depending on the surrounding air temperature.
For cooling: Wheat bags also make excellent cold packs. Simply place the bag in the freezer for at least 30 minutes until cool. As the wheat contains no added water, the bag will not freeze solid. It can even be stored in the freezer inside a freezer-safe container, ready whenever a cooling pack is needed.
